The role of Fallopian Tubes in family building and how to Protect them!!
This is such an important topic that I’m dedicating a Fertility Minute to Tubes today! Apparently I have Tubes on the mind…..and the reason is I have a deep sadness when patients say “I wish I would have known.” It makes me want to share every piece of knowledge I have in hope to protect even one person from future heartache. So I’m dedicating a Fertility Minute to Fallopian Tubes today to educate and empower women to understand their role in future fertility and protect them.
Fallopian tubes can be damaged by sexually transmitted infections (STIs) so regularly using barrier contraception (condoms etc) can protect you and your precious tubes. There are tests to see if your Fallopian tubes are open and healthy, specifically a Hysterosalpingogram or HSG. Simply put, this is a test where dye is put into the uterus through the vagina and x rays are taken to see if the dye flows out of the Fallopian Tubes.
If your tubes are damaged or have been removed, don’t worry. There are other options to build your family, but you need the help of a Reproductive Endocrinologist and Infertility Specialist. Remember – knowledge is power! Protect yourself, your tubes and your future fertility ❤️
